"Yes" on the Table

Romans 12 marks a turning point: after eleven chapters explaining what God has done for us, Paul shows us how we should live in response. In view of God’s incredible mercy, we are called to surrender our lives as living sacrifices, renew our minds through God’s truth, and walk confidently in His will. The Christian life isn’t about earning God’s love—it’s responding to love already received. The question is simple: If Jesus has given you all of Himself, how much of you does He have?

In Romans 11:30–36, Paul moves from deep theology to passionate worship. God’s mercy reminds us that none of us earned our salvation, while His unsearchable wisdom teaches us to trust Him even when we cannot understand His ways. Ultimately, everything in life is from Him, through Him, and to Him. This message challenges us to marvel at God’s mercy, rest in God’s mystery, and live every part of our lives for the glory of God.

In Romans 11:1–27, Paul reminds us that God is always faithful to His promises. Through the picture of an olive tree, we see God preserve a remnant by grace, extend salvation to the Gentiles, warn against pride and superficial faith, and promise restoration for Israel. “God’s Family Tree” challenges us to examine whether our faith is truly rooted in Christ and reminds us that genuine saving faith is a faith that endures.

In Romans 10:13–17, Paul reminds us that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, but they first must hear the good news. This message challenges every believer to recognize the urgency of evangelism, embrace our responsibility to go and speak, and trust the power of the gospel. In Romans 10:1–13, Paul brings the mystery of God’s sovereignty alongside the responsibility of man. Sincerity cannot save us, religious works cannot save us, and our best efforts can never make us righteous before God. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus has already done what we could never do. Salvation is available to everyone who believes, confesses Jesus as Lord, and calls upon His name. Only Jesus can save.

If there is a war, then there is an enemy. If there is an enemy, then the enemy has a strategy. And if the enemy has a strategy, then we had better understand how he operates. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 2:11 that we should not be ignorant of Satan’s schemes. That word “schemes” speaks of his methods. Satan is not creative. He has been running the same play for thousands of years. And if you want to understand the schemes of Satan, if you want to get a peak at his playbook to understand how he attacks the people of God, you do not have to look any further than Genesis 3. Because the first recorded words of Satan in the Bible reveal his strategy: "Did God really say?" His first attack was an attack on God’s Word because Satan knew that if he could get us to question what God had said, he could get us to eventually disobey what God had commanded.
